Just keeping track, 11-22-04

kilroy35,000 words, and a character I didn't expect making an appearance in the book. I'm just slightly behind schedule due to a traveling weekend, but my school week is effectively done in an hour and a half, so I should have plenty of time to write this week.
In other good news, my D&D campaign is within seven or so sessions of ending, and last session was glorious with the next session promising to be just as good. I promised a campaign of plot and character development ("In D&D? You're kidding!"), and I have delivered, with the gracious help of a number of exceptional players. Anomaly was entirely original, but fundamentally fractured. Feng Shui was a messy, two-year-long joyride that I don't regret running for a second. Saga is art, and I'm more proud of this game than I've ever been of anything I've created. It's shapely fiction, incredibly sexy storytelling, and I'm going to keep it on my mantlepiece to shine periodically long after the game is actually over.
And the next project is beginning to percolate, of course. I have an idea that I need to bang out with a few friends, but if it did go it would mean fully asynchronous online play; an idea that is very attractive to me, because it means people I don't normally play with can dig in. But we'll see.
