kilroyThe surgery went fine; no problems of any sort with the procedure itself, other than them getting to me 80 minutes late. Today is going to be the bad day of recuperation; at its worst, my eye feels like there's sandpaper on it so when it moves, it burns a little. It's not actually pain but it is phenomenally irritating. That combined with the fact that my eye is still sooper-dilated and will be for at least a while yet means that I'm pretty much crying constantly out of one eye.
On the plus side, the opiates they gave me totally work. I suspect that tomorrow if I get up early enough I can just take one and coast through the "you just slept" period where it's the worst. Further testing today to verify this idea.
On the minus side, despite having the day off I can't actually work on Yuletide because I can't see straight enough to do extensive typing. Which means that I'm going to have a really classy case of Yuletide panic this weekend, and that I won't have time for a real beta. I may need to start considering a condensed/revised idea for my story that won't require me to write another 3000 words.
