First, foremost, and forever: thank you. You're giving a gift to me this season despite the fact that we've probably never met, in an act of kindness and pure fannish love. You rock. :-)

Second, and almost as important: write the story that fires you up. I would ten-times rather have a story that you're passionate about than one that precisely fits what I asked for. If you can find a story that matches my request AND makes you giggle with authorial glee, that's fantastic. But if there's ever a conflict between what you really want to write and what I asked for, go with your heart. The story will be better for it, and I'll still be bouncing up and down on Christmas morning.

That's the important stuff. Everything else in here is just for your consideration. :-)

Things I generally like and dislike:
* I always prefer stories rather than snapshots-- even if it's just one scene in one room. I like beginnings, middles, and endings; I like it when characters don't end exactly where they began.
* I like stuff that's true to the spirit of the canon. The characters should feel like they do in the source material, even if the fic goes places that the canon never did. This is espeically true of slash.
* I love seeing how characters interact with each other. Someone alone is almost never as interesting to me as two people talking to each other.
* I'm not really looking for anything overtly sexual; relationships are great, but details of the act itself are not really a turn-on for me.
* If you can do comedy in written form, I will love you forever.

My specific requests:
Red Dwarf - I've asked for this one three years running, and I'll keep asking until I get it. More Kochanski! She added elements to the comedy that were fabulous (not to mention a little feminine influence), and I don't think anything in the last two seasons made me laugh as hard as she did.

The Prisoner - This show sends a chill down my spine. Depending on the episode, I find myself terrified, surprised, confused, nervous, or appalled. The tension never lets up. Really what I'm looking for is a little of that intensity and suspense, and to do that requires Six-- who is the only character we really get to care about.

TSCC - I am one of the mourners. When Dollhouse got renewed and TSCC got canceled, I almost wore black for a month. If you want to really drop my jaw, do what the show did and introduce more mysteries even as you proceed forward. I don't want an ending, I want the series to live on for another two seasons in my mind. :-)

Middleman - Here's an interesting thing: to me, the Middleman is a prop. He's absolutely necessary to the show's construction, but he's a fixed signifier and therefore boring. I love the universe and seeing the characters playing in it is going to make me happy regardless; but if you want a real challenge, take MM out of his comfort zone and show him being something that's not just the boy scout.

Other stuff:
My journal's actually been reasonably active over the last year, so if you want to get a feel for me, go right ahead and poke around. I recommend this note heartily as a jumping-off point. Or hitting the rules of drama tag. :)
