I finally got around to reading the most recent Blue Beetle series, and I felt obligated to share this exchange (copyright the appropriate folks):

Jaime (the teenaged new Blue Beetle): Do you mind if Paco and I go out?
Dad: Where? The mall? Catch a movie?
Jaime: Actually, there's a big fire on the highway 375 loop and I was going to help.
Dad: Huh. This is...
Mom: New.
Dad: ...uhhhh. Can the armor handle it?
Jaime: Yes.
Mom: No fighting. No monsters.
Jaime: Nope.
Mom: Homework done?
Jaime: Yes ma'am.
Dad: Go, be careful. And let's say, when it's a natural disaster, not school hours, you can just go.
Jaime: Thanks, dad.
Mom: But if you're going to be late, call.
Jaime: Okay, mom.
Mom: And no monster fighting unless they start it.

I am in my happy place right now.
