A nurse from my primary care just got back to me about my blood tests, revealing that:

* My cholesterol is high but not dangerously so... yet. I need to exercise a lot to mitigate this; I was expecting to need some, but it's a higher number than I was prepared for. Dietary adjustments would also help, obviously: low LDL, high fiber.
* My vitamin D is low-- not really a surprise since I've been getting essentially zero sun since starting this job. I'll be getting supplements covered by my marvelous health insurance.

Combine this with continuing kidney stone joy (I'm passing another fragmentary stone--my fourth, I believe--as we speak), and it looks like major diet shifts are no longer optional. I think I'm going to tackle one major lifestyle change at a time-- exercise first, diet second-- but it appears that things will need to be truly different.

And then I need to get my eye fixed. And talk to someone about my migraines. And see an allergist. And probably a chiropractor.

Maintaining your body is a lot of work. :-P
