kilroySo, finished reading Children of God last night-- or more accurately, this morning. I'm pleased to see that I can still be drawn into a book enough that I stay up until two in the morning to finish it. Also at this point that I can stay up until two in the morning to do anything.
On the other hand I am beginning to realize that I am in at least some small measure a bad person. So far every time I've run into a reasonably detailed autistic character in fiction, my reaction has been to want to punch them in the face repeatedly. I genuinely loathe these characters, and I'm not entirely certain why. I'd like to say it's because they're so alien (which is true) or because they're so narrow (also true), but neither one of those really seems to touch it. They bring out a well of bile that is unlike anything else I read.
