As remarked in the article, this doesn't necessarily mean that music pirates aren't part of the declining music revenue problem. But it's an interesting comment on the community-- it places them as willing and significant participants in the industry as opposed to merely thieves.
I wonder if the same holds true for people who watch television via the internet. I've certainly shelled out a few bucks for shows that I found online.
