Still, as before, the thing that cheers me most is the thing I think would cheer our president most.
I was in the Flag Lounge at Parkland with 100 other people, and among that crowd were people that had never voted before this election, people who had lost hope in the presidency, and people who were skipping classes to be there. There were people standing rows back behind glass barriers. Because they wanted to listen. Because they wanted to see.
America is paying attention again, and that gives me more hope than anything.
