If any of you Bond fans haven't seen Quantum of Solace yet, don't bother. One of the great things about Bond movies in general is that they really pull out the stops for the stunts, and traditionally this means long lingering shots that allow the audience to go "Wow, they really did that." This one was shot more like the Bourne movies-- I don't think there was a single stunt where I knew what the hell was going on, or that I got to see for more than half a second before the camera moved.
Also, the way they dealt with the emotional fallout from Vesper was almost entirely declaratory. There's lots of dialogue about character development, but no actual emotional content to most of the lines. And like the action, there's no pauses to let us just see the emotions.
It's almost exactly the same team that made the last one, and that was one of the best Bond movies of all time. They did not make these mistakes last time, and I just don't understand why they did this. It makes me sad.
