I present the back cover copy of "Subway Tokens in the Sand":

Sixteen-year-old Cooper Ellis is dating one of the cutest, most interesting guys at her school, but now that she has a boyfriend, she's not so sure she likes it. It seems like every time she turns around, Josh is there, wanting to spend more time with her--and it's beginning to wear on Cooper's nerves. What's worse, Cooper is finding it more and more difficult to make Josh happy, even though she's putting off her friends and her modeling career in order to spend time with him.

With spring break on the horizon, Cooper is thrilled when her parents plan a trip to the Hamptons and allow her to bring Claire. A "girls only" week at the beach is exactly what Cooper needs. But just when their plans are set, Cooper's mother does the unthinkable and invites Alex and Josh to come, too. Spring break is ruined, and Cooper is suffocating under the pressure of having to choose between Josh and her friends. With everything around her falling apart, is Cooper ready to face the truth?

...

My only two real responses to this were sarcasm and gagging in disgust. So I had to share.

For any feminists in the audience, this was written in 1999.
