So I finished Season 3 of Friday Night Lights yesterday, and I think I'm going to stop here. 90% of all the character stories I care about are complete, and next season sure looks like the plucky underfunded football team David-and-Goliath plot to me.

That said, this was some bloody amazing television and I highly recommend it to anyone. None of the characters are simple and none of the stories are easy. FNL does an amazing job creating drama because they emphasize difficult choices-- there's never a clear right answer in any situation. Simple things become acts of bravery and sacrifice, not just one for one character but for all of them. I ended up loving every misfit, loser, jock, and priss on the show because they each demonstrated a depth and humanity that I couldn't help but connect to.

I was deeply and repeatedly moved. I can't ask for anything more than that.
