Just some quickies

Yesterday one of the mailroom guys came by and said "If anyone wants some free chili, come on down to the loading dock." He takes the bus every day, but out of nothing other than the goodness of his heart brought all the fixings to make not one but two big pots of Texas chili. I had the four-alarm, which was the equivalent of a bag of actual chiles dipped in tomatos, and it was quite possibly the most delicious chili I have ever had. The student worker will vouch for this-- I was making yummy noises for an hour and smiling until my head about fell off. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Charlie the mailroom guy. My week was dramatically improved.

Saw L&J last night/this morning for too short a visit, but some is better than none. I hope Rites goes well for all you folks out at the Grove this weekend.

And it's Friday. After a week of not sleeping, the concept of "weekend" has special meaning for me. I may not be suitable for the company of humans tonight, but by Sunday at least I should have resumed some semblance of normalcy.
