Further small successes
Jun. 25th, 2008 09:24 amChalk up another one to the story-a-day program-- Ted Chiang is totally amazing. Read him right now. Or wait until I'm done with his book and borrow it from me. :)
At this point the numeric reality of the task is finally setting in for me. At the end of this year I will have read something like 35 books of short stories-- two full shelves worth. I will have more or less doubled my personal collection of actual books of short stories. It's... a lot, actually. I'm not sure if it's more work than the hundred movies goal-- that only took about two hours twice a week-- but it's definitely not small.
It's been an amazing ride so far, and I've got half the year left. Whether or not I can (or want to) do this again next year is a whole other question. :)
