Doctor Who 4x06 The Doctor's Daughter

Well, they stole the best Miranda bits, referenced the fact that yes, he did have a family at one point, and left the door open for some ridiculous awesome later on. I'm happy. :)

In the books, Ace goes off to basically do the same thing in the end-- she becomes a time-traveling heroine, finally grown up enough to do it on her own without the Doctor. Benny doesn't do time-travel, but she still does her share of adventuring; her time and tech level were sufficient to keep her busy even in her own time zone. Miranda became the queen of an entire galaxy. Martha is trying to fix UNIT. And now Jenny.

This is a trend that I wholly approve of-- companions who have a life after the Doctor, who take what they learned traveling and go on to be awesome in their own right. It's only proper as a send-off to the characters we love, and I can't wait to see more of it.
