Doctor Who 4x02: Fires of Pompeii

Now THAT was an episode. Comedy done well in a subservient place to the plot, big cool-looking monsters that get blown up, and Donna generally not having any of it. Solid gold. It only suffered from the usual pacing problem; it should have been a two-parter.

I'm honestly surprised they kept the moral dilemma. I would have expected them to either go with the "I tried really hard to save them but couldn't" line, made the people there guilty and/or bad so it was okay they died, or come up with something incredibly clever so that it looked like 20,000 people died when he really saved them all. They didn't. I'm not sure if I think this is good or not, but it certainly continues the trend of the last four or five seasons. And it is interesting.

Looking forward to the next one.
